Notes:
This was incredible entertainment. This is a strictly entertainment pod and it’s best in class. Two hours long and there’s very few slow parts, highly entertaining. First 12 minutes are a recap of the tourney and then the jokes just don’t end the entire time. Great pod, highest score for an “entertainment” pod I’ve given.
Starts with tourney recap men’s and women’s. 10:40 Rob makes a good point - doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, “lets grow another league or two for us to bet on”.
13:30 - “I’d rather eat 30 waffles at Waffle House than pay Alex.” Incredible.
16:30 - “Complete a marathon?” “I’d die.” “Think complete a marathon has to be the nut low on this list.” Sounds like a fun day to me.
18:30 - “Take the SAT and get a minimum 1300.”
“This is like the marathon, Joey K not getting a 1300.” Dying.
22:15 - “My only goal would be to score higher than the Hitman.” “I don’t think that’ll be a challenge.” “He was a teacher you know.” “PhysEd teacher.” “Dunno how much of the SAT has dodgeball on it?” Amazing, the chemistry shines through here hysterical.
28:05 - Gambling Twitter talk starts. Idea came from an article of top Twitter follows “that just reading it gave me Hepatitis B” (lol). Most lists are SEO garbage (great point by Rob). Rob outlines the rules and his ruleset is excellent - “what I value may not be what value”. (great point and something I learned very quickly doing this acct).
37:15 - “The Essentials” - Haralabos. “Quick analysis - has me blocked.” Dying. AbnormallyDistributed. Andy and Drew. 42:10 - “Their NFL Alternate Win Totals podcast one of the best episodes, may have changed that market.” (If anyone can link me to that one I’ll absolutely go back to that one). Spanky. “We go from high class to low class.” It was a joke, great line. Adam Chernoff. 45:40 - “There was one point during Covid that if I saw one more Chernoff golf swing video I was going to end it.” Incredible lol. “Switched Tim Hortons for Dunkin.” “That’s it take him off the list.” Rufus. 48:55 - “Will put out good information and sometimes unknowingly.” Bingo 100% accurate. (You have to really dig for the Rufus tidbits.) Jeff Benson.
54:55 - “Smart People You Will Probably Learn Something From”. Matthew Trenhaile. (100% agreed). Mr Liimited. PlusEVAnalytics. 1:00:25 - “That skill that Trenhaile has of explaining really complicated things easily, the exact opposite is true for PlusEV.” 100% on the mark. Rob then says he’s “very receptive to feedback”. On what planet is this true because it isn’t on Planet Earth. Austin Mock (amock419). “He’s a guy you follow to click on his links of his stuff at The Athletic” not so much the tweets. Correct again, articles and where his value is not the tweets. Professor042.
1:07:15 - “Entertainment Follows”. Alan Boston. “I’ve never been more out on a selection. If I wanted Alex Jones with average basketball selections mixed in, then yes.” Holy moly lol.
PropDude7. NFLPinnacleBeat. Kirk Evans. “He went up against cville and the Aussies, the gatekeepers, and held his own.” If you ever wanted to know why boxing and MMA judges are so bad, here’s Exhibit A because we can go through the scorecard (the early tweets) and there’s a lot of 10-8 rounds in there. More recent content is betterish so there’s been improvement. TR_Tracker. “There seems to be less of these accounts tracking.” “Detective Chuck on TikTok.” Big soccer guy. Trav at HeHateMe2_0. “I always associated this guy with cville.” Bzzz, nope. “Cville is all inside jokes.” 100% accurate and it’s going to stay that way because none of us care. Alfonso Straffon. Industry news. (100% agreed).
1:25:30 - Worst Follows.
PiskyPositivo. Brings up the steak dinners tweet which is an all timer “and he’s talking about it like Oceans 11” lol. “He’s in the lunatic fringe of the too positive, life’s not that great friends.” Dying.
Alex Bartlett. “Who are your tweets for? Maybe he’s tweeting because no one will listen to him.”
Preston - “has gone from an Essential then bought a soccer team and the fans from Crawley have Cheetah on alert.” My bias is that Preston is one of the guys who spent some time remembering Groovin so he’s just going to get a pass from me but Knish is correct the account is no longer a gambling twitter acct. “He was one of the best in his heyday.” Gambling Twitter isn’t forever.
1:37:00 - “Fezzik he doesn’t shut up, he talks as such a high volume I can see why talking to him is disorientating.” Crying.
The flow between Pizzola and Knish is off the charts - the rapport between the two is incredible especially for a remote show which BTP proves every week is not easy. Rob’s hosting skills shine, Knish pumps in the humor throughout. Great rebound from whatever the hell that Corbie pod was. My opinion on the lists is I think these suggestions are a good start and you can pare down as you realize some of the suggestions are terrible, but there’s more value out there, but these things are subjective and you need to cater your lists for you and your needs, if following is too “public” for you, create a private Twitter List and use the list instead of your timeline.I didn’t see the “sport specific lists” they mention they would tweet out when I did this last night, but I would look for those.
