Wasn't going to review this because it's not sports betting content, but I decided ultimately that I would so bettors know exactly how these offerings are being targeted at them. Not a ton here, but I think the big thing to take away here as a bettor is understand exactly how they are targeting you the user to avoid falling into any online casino traps. Of course, a small subsection of APs will find benefits (edges, possible acct longevity, VIP, etc), but most should probably avoid entirely.
John Worthington - VP of Interactive Gaming. Jackpocket generated 800k in online GGR (gross gaming revenue) in Feb (up 4x from Jan). DraftKings recently acquired Jackpocket for $750 million.
1:30 - Soft launched in Oct, launched in earnest in Jan (so this is just getting started). "It was a priority to make sure it was easy for the customer to get from the lottery to the casino (and vice versa)" I'm sure it was. He goes over the ways that they are doing sophisticated messaging to people, big one being the carry over KYC and banking data from lottery to casino app. Decided on a separate app vs in-lottery app for many reasons (regulatory, Uber/Eats analogy, etc)
7:30 - as the lottery jackpots get bigger they see an increase in both lottery use and cross app use. 9:00 - 300 games when they went live (wow that seems like a lot).
12:50 - Expansion - NJ the proving ground, West Virginia possibly next, PA.
Not a ton here, but the real thing I want people to get from this is - understand how you are being targeted, how you’re being marketed towards so you understand their philosophy and don’t get sucked into -EV situations.
